Born Jan 7th in 1951, in Levanger, Norway. I didn't start to paint until I was 30 years old. Playing with forms and colours has given a new sense to my life. I did classical figurative painting for some years, but missed the creativity, the spontanity and the colours. Colours are my big passion. Over the years, my paintings have become more abstract. The last 10 years I have mainly painted oil in canvas and I like to make large paintings. I also like to make monoprints. I get my inspiration and strength from the fantastic nature that surround us. I have mainly held separate/collective exhibitions in my region, and I also sell my paintings here. In 2006 I opened my own gallery in Levanger, Norway, and I have been inviting several guest artists to hold exhibitions in my gallery. In 2009 I was invited to Biennale Internazionale Dell'Arte Contempranea, Firenze, Italy. In 2010 I participated in a collective exhibition in Amsterdam Whitney Gallery in New York. For me, a painting is a poem without words, and this is the reason why I seldom give titles to my paintings |
