ARTIST STATEMENT:

The Vortex series is conceptually fueled by information overload. During a time when the world is more connected then ever before individuals have never been so secluded. As human beings we live in a mental state of fear. Take away all our possessions and characteristics and we are left with the uncertainty of who we are and where we are going. We become alone, and stripped down to our most primal beings ruled by our animal instincts. We realize our faith in what we strongly believed in our reality has been shaken. We are all stuck looking through a kaleidoscope portal deep into ourselves searching for what is the correct decisions to govern our lives. Constantly swayed by media controlled energy and the energies and ideas of  others  clashing with our own confusion and indecisiveness. We disguise this every day with false hopes of confidence in something we have no control over. We may be plastic and shiny on the outside but we are rugged, earthy surfaces scorn with wound like lines and holes. The Vortex pierces deep within the single secluded humans fear that we are all just animals, while societies information overload causes us to drown in our own attention deficit disorder.
