Artist Statement:
From the beginning an artist has possession of things that are not entirely
known. In this immature stage of his development he cannot be certain what is
his and what is not his. His progression (maturation) in life and in his
artistic exploration allow him to sort out his 'possessions': to return what
is not his, to hold onto (or keep on loan) what he thinks or feels may be
his, or to remain open to accepting, exchanging, or perhaps even
keeping future possessions. For me, this process is a dilemma, which manifests
itself in my art work as a conflict between two and three dimensional forms:
each individual piece an attempt at integrating both (that is, resolving the
conflict) yet, in a sense, also a failure to do so. However, it is the attempt
which matters, an act of personal self-discovery.
